Exodus Talent Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all tutors, staff, volunteers, parents, and students to share this commitment and contribute to creating a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment.

1. Purpose of This Policy

This policy explains how Exodus Talent Academy aims to protect children and young people participating in our tuition services, workshops, classes, and activities, whether delivered online or in person.

2. Our Commitment

We are committed to providing a safe and positive environment for all students, treating all children and young people with dignity and respect, taking all safeguarding concerns seriously, responding appropriately to concerns about a child’s welfare, promoting safe working practices for tutors and staff, and complying with applicable UK safeguarding legislation and guidance.

3. Scope

This policy applies to all services provided by Exodus Talent Academy, including one-to-one tuition, group tuition, online lessons, workshops and extracurricular activities, dance and performance sessions, and any related educational activities.

4. Tutors and Staff

All tutors engaged by Exodus Talent Academy are expected to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and behave in a safe, respectful, and professional manner at all times.

Where appropriate, tutors may be required to undergo identity and safeguarding checks, including DBS checks.

Tutors and staff must act in the best interests of students, avoid inappropriate or unprofessional behaviour, report safeguarding concerns promptly, communicate appropriately with students and parents, maintain confidentiality where appropriate, and follow this Safeguarding Policy at all times.

5. Parent and Guardian Responsibilities

Parents/guardians are responsible for providing accurate emergency and medical information, supervising younger children where appropriate, ensuring students attend sessions in a safe and suitable environment, informing us of any relevant welfare, behavioural, or medical concerns, and supporting appropriate behaviour during lessons and activities.

6. Online Safety

For online tuition and virtual sessions, students should participate from an appropriate environment, younger students should be supervised where appropriate, lessons must not be recorded, shared, or distributed without prior permission, tutors and students should communicate through approved platforms where possible, and inappropriate online behaviour will not be tolerated.

7. Safeguarding Concerns

Any safeguarding concerns, disclosures, or allegations involving a child or young person will be taken seriously and handled appropriately.

Where necessary, concerns may be referred to relevant safeguarding authorities, agencies, or emergency services in accordance with legal obligations and safeguarding guidance.

8. Behaviour and Conduct

We expect respectful behaviour from all students, parents, tutors, and staff.

Exodus Talent Academy reserves the right to suspend or terminate participation in services where behaviour creates safeguarding risks or causes harm, disruption, intimidation, or distress to others.

9. Confidentiality

Safeguarding information will be handled sensitively and shared only where necessary and appropriate to protect a child or comply with legal obligations.
